Let’s begin today, right now having reverence for life by starting with ourself. We know deep down in our soul that we are Lights of the Divine. When we shine our Light we revere the Divine, the Beloved, our Creator, and, ourself.
We ask, “How can we shine our Light?” Our Light shines when we love ourself.
How to love ourself: Look in the mirror, love every aspect of that reflection, every detail, remembering that Beloved created that work of art with UNCONDITIONAL LOVE. Accept that. We are that loved. Our heart opens when we love ourself. When we have something we can give it away, when we have love for ourself we are then capable of giving it to another with an open heart. With love comes reverence, reverence for ourself which is reverence for Beloved. Let’s be grateful to Beloved for the gift of our Life, the gift of ourself. Then let’s be grateful for all the gifts Beloved has bestowed on us: air to breathe, water to drink and hear and play in and use, yummy and wonderful flavors to taste, the ability to see beautiful colors and shapes and textures, sounds to hear and feel, feelings to feel, beautiful things to touch, experiences of love and fun and laughter, hugs, information to learn, all the multitude of gifts we have. List some of your own. Science has proven that thoughts become things so when our focus is on all the marvelousness in our life we will get more. Try an experiment: Say out loud a short list of things that you love. I’ll start, “I love the first cup of coffee in the morning. I love chocolate. I love listening to children play. I love a hug. I love looking at the tulips in bloom, I love watching my flowering crabapple tree bloom, I love watching the hummingbirds fly up to the feeder……………………” Then get with another and alternately list things you love. Notice how you feel after playing this game. Now look in the mirror and play this game with yourself, “I love the color of my eyes, I love the shape of my chin, I love…………….” We shine our Light when we love ourself. We can make the world a better place when we open our hearts first to ourself then to the world – our Light shines brightly.
